The party has been formed through the unification of several forces including the Maoist Centre and the Unified Socialist.<\/p>\n<p>The new communist party emerged amid political shifts following the \u201cGen Z Movement.\u201d At an event held at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu, leaders formally announced the formation of the Nepali Communist Party. Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been appointed Coordinator, while Madhav Nepal has been chosen as Co-Coordinator. Jhala Nath Khanal has been placed in the third-ranking position, and Bamdev Gautam in the fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the announcement ceremony, party leaders described the day as a significant moment for Nepal\u2019s communist movement. Coordinator Dahal called it a \u201chistoric day,\u201d emphasizing the need for national unity to face current challenges and expressing confidence that the new party would contribute meaningfully. Co-Coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal stated that past weaknesses must be addressed to drive the communist movement forward.<\/p>\n<p>Leaders also said that the central organizational structures of the new party will be finalized after consultations with the leaders of all unifying groups, and a central committee will be formed by integrating the existing central committees of each party. Likewise, elected representatives at the National Assembly, Provincial Assemblies, and local levels\u2014who were originally elected under the symbols of Maoist Centre, Unified Socialist, Nepal Socialist Party, and Maoist Socialist Party\u2014will now be recognized as representatives of the Nepali Communist Party.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, all movable and immovable property, bank assets, and liabilities of the unifying parties will now fall under the ownership of the Nepali Communist Party. Leaders announced that the party\u2019s first General Convention will be held within six months.<\/p>\n<p><strong>23-Point Commitment Released<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the newly formed Nepali Communist Party has unveiled a 23-point commitment document. The commitments include protecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity, remaining loyal to the people, creatively applying Marxism and Leninism in the Nepali context, and advancing towards the establishment of scientific socialism.<\/p>\n<p>The party has pledged to protect the constitution, strengthen federalism, and reduce the number of provincial assembly members.<\/p>\n<p>The commitment paper also states that efforts will be made to ensure good governance, form a high-level commission to investigate wealth accumulation and punish wrongdoers, streamline public service delivery, expand access to basic services, and continue the struggle against all forms of exploitation and oppression.<\/p>\n<p>To strengthen internal party democracy, the document outlines policies to establish necessary procedures, engage all leaders in productive labor, strictly implement communist ethics, and adopt a simple lifestyle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, 5th November 2025, In a new development within Nepal\u2019s communist movement\u2014long marked by cycles of unity and fragmentation\u2014ten parties and political groups have merged to form a new political entity named the Nepali Communist Party.
